Ethical practice is of the utmost importance to me, I believe working within an ethical framework keeps both you (the client) and I, safe and well. I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. To check out what I adhere to in the ethical framework in more detail, click here.
I am also fully insured and have an enhanced DBS check.
I lecture on the CPCAB Therapeutic Counselling Diplomas taught in Reading, Farnborough and Basingstoke . I lecture on a counselling degree course and supervise at Peter Symonds College, Winchester.
Having worked with qualified therapists since 2015, I decided to gain my diploma in supervision in 2017 and thereafter started working with trainees.
I currently supervise groups at Peter Symonds College and Basingstoke College and continue to supervise individual therapists.
It is not fair to ask of others what you are not willing to do yourself.

I am very interested in providing therapy for student counsellors from other Counselling and Psychotherapy courses who are required to undergo therapy as part of their course requirements. This is an interesting relationship as you may not have chosen to undertake therapy if not for course requirements and this brings an added dimension to the work we might complete together, additionally you are learning theories that may or may not match your experience in the therapeutic space. I am always keen to explore these experiences with you.
In addition to working in private practice, I have also worked as a school counsellor in secondary schools in both England and abroad. Prior to that, I worked in Children's Services, supporting children and young people on an individual basis, as well as working therapeutically with families. My work in Adult Mental Health has been on both an individual and group basis.

"It was hard coming here every week to talk about myself, but at least I am not so shy about talking up in class and I don't think constantly about how fat and ugly I am or about what to restrict in my eating next and how to hide it from my parents"
